As far as I know, in school the children are taught that food all comes from green plants. This is food for all green plants and animals. When green plants and animals die, their bodies become food for green plants again. And this is the present theory of food cycle.
In elementery school children are told the food for green plants is supplied by the animal body decay, which I think is not substantial in cycle of food.
I think I have a better and more logical version. See all the food for animals come from green plants. When an animal digests the food it eats, it converts it into defication. This defication is the best food green plants can find (as fertilizer). So this is my theory of food cycle:
Green plants give food to animals. Animals take it and convert it to food for green plants. And green plants take it and convert it back to food for animals again. And this cycle goes on.
This idea may seem simple, but the more I think about it, the effects that are more important come to my mind. Just think we are talking about food(the main SUSTINANCE) coming from the most unwanted thing (defication). I mean on the axis of things, from the things that we want to get rid of the most to the things that we strive for the most, everything is covered.
Look at the PSYCHOLOGICAL side of the issue: Is the food taken by the animal paid by giving its dead body, or is it paid by the animal releiving itself? You see, there is a lot of difference in the price the animal pays. This can have a tremendous psychological effect on our lives, and definately children in elementary school should not be misinformed.
I won't go through the other effects one by one, but I think you can imagine how these effects can change the way we live.
Anyway, this is my revision to theory of food cycle.
